TARGET AUDIENCE

Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Pulmonologists, Thoracic Surgeons, Pathologists, Oncology Nurses, Oncology Pharmacists, Fellows in Training, and Physicians in active clinical practice who are interested and/or involved in the management of patients with GI cancer.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Needs assessments for this CME activity were derived from documented Southern California epidemiological data, literature reviews and current clinical trials; needs presumed by the Program Committee and expressed needs from ACO members.

At the conclusion of this program, registrants should be able to discuss:

  • The impact of EGFR, VEGF & VEGRF targeted therapies in GI Oncology
  • Combined targeted /chemotherapy in GI Cancer.
  • Oral fluoropyrimidines in adjuvant chemotherapy
  • Molecular and genetic assays for patients with GI cancer
  • The current status of the adjuvant therapy of Stage II and Stage III
    colon cancer
  • New therapies and management strategies for hepatic cancer
  • Targeted therapy for GIST: current status
